Our jungle stay is one of the only places in Sarawak which can combine beach, jungle, and mountain. A remote place where you can relax in a hammock, enjoy the quietness of the Rainforest, explore nearby deserted beaches with one of our kayaks, jungle trek or be attentive to the wildlife.
This magic and peaceful place is protected by Santubong national park that surrounds it, halfway between Damai beach and Buntal fishing village, facing the famous Bako national park and in the foothill of the fabulous Mount Santubong.
We are located at about 30 kilometers from Kuching airport plus 30 minutes by boat from Buntal village.
Into the wild at only 1 hour from Kuching !
24 000 m2 of Rainforest by the sea with a pretty deserted beach and several streams of crystal clear water coming from the beautiful Mount Santubong, where you can find an interesting fauna and luxuriant flora.
We wanted to bring to light this paradise to nature lovers, to a public able to feel the wonder of this preserved environment.
It took us 15 months of very hard work, of passion and amazement, so that in your turn you can put your steps in ours..
So traveler, adventurer, poet, ecologist, creative or contemplative hold on tight to the dream catcher..
We created and built this unique place with our own hands, some help from generous donators and nature lovers volunteers.
Perfectly integrated in that lush vegetation, with constructions inspired by the traditional structures of Sarawak :
* A Longhouse built on poles ( Iban tribe traditional house) in wood, cordwood and palm tree roof. It has 4 rooms with a large covered terrace (Ruai) giving a beautiful sea view, inviting to chill out in a hammock during the hot hours... Shared shower and toilet. Fan in each room..
* Three wood and atap bungalows with terrace and rattan lounge. Facing the sea. Shared bathroom. Fan.
All our accommodation prices include breakfast (Coffee or tea, homemade bread with butter and homemade jam. Breakfast extras are also available from the menu).

We can receive you in an idyllic setting with a peaceful mood in our amazing large open dinning room inspired by the Baruk ( Bidahyu tribe round house) to celebrate delicious traditional, international and fusion cuisine with the fresh products from the local market. Also various fresh drinks are available.
The electricity is produced by solar panels and the drinking water come from the mountain (filtered).

However you can also have your own connection with a local sim card that you can buy in town ( the best signal here is with Celcom)
It's important too to know that to really enjoy a holiday in an isolated place, you need to be in a good physical condition. Also note that children under 12 years old can not be accepted. In fact that little paradise is only reachable by boat or 2 to 3 hours trek in the forest.
Nanga Shanti is open from April to September to follow the rhythm of the monsoon.
Kali our dog and ourselves will be happy to welcome you in this unique place .
